Frequently Asked Questions
This course is designed for beginners with no prior GIS experience. Basic computer skills and familiarity with spreadsheet software (like Excel) are helpful. For advanced modules, some programming knowledge (Python) is beneficial but not required.
The program runs as a guided cohort over approximately 4 months, with 8-10 hours per week of live sessions and project work. You'll keep access to all materials for 12 months from enrollment.
Upon successful completion, you'll receive a digital Kijani Hub certificate of completion with a unique verification code that employers can use to validate your credentials. Just as importantly, you'll graduate with a capstone portfolio of real project work β the strongest proof of skill in the geospatial field.
You'll need a computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux) with at least 8GB RAM (16GB recommended for some modules). All required software is open-source and we provide installation guides. A stable internet connection is required for accessing course materials.
